Qajaq USA Board Members

Tracy Coon served two years as a former President of the Jersey Shore Sea Kayak Association. She began contributing to JSSKA when she was called upon to apply her abilities in writing, graphics and marketing, to the first JSSKA brochure.  During her tenure as President, Tracy and her team introduced and organized an unprecedented number of new programs and educational opportunities for the club

Tracy really loves the sport and having fun. Her first Greenland paddling experience was over 5 years ago when a paddler offered her a Greenland paddle to try and she enjoyed the organic way it slid through the water and the ease on her joints. After trying a skin-on-frame qajaq Tracy could not wait to build one of her own, which she did, with the help of many friends. She chose the Goodnow qajaq, after paddling a replica and finding it a perfect fit, responsive and most important, a joy to look at.

Tracy can be found paddling all throughout NJ and beyond, often mentoring friends and curious strangers at the local pond at Round Valley. She enjoys introducing kayakers to Greenland style paddling and has appeared at many events including Paddlesport, Delmarva, East Coast Canoe and Kayak Festival, City of Water, and Polar Fest at the Museum of Natural History.

Tracy handles membership for Qajaq USA.
